Ir. Basoshi Iubwe Théophile

Hon. Ir. Basoshi Iubwe Théophile is a distinguished Exploration Geologist, public servant, and visionary leader renowned for his unwavering commitment to ethical and sustainable mining practices. A native of the mineral-rich South Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Basoshi commenced his professional journey as a mining engineer after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in mining engineering. His early career provided significant exposure to the mining sector’s challenges, particularly ethical extraction, environmental stewardship, and community inclusion.
His extensive technical experience propelled him to serve in leadership roles, notably as the Provincial Director of SAEMAPE (Service for Assistance and Organization of Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining) in South Kivu, where he championed the formalization and regulation of artisanal mining. This role deeply informed his understanding of systemic inefficiencies and motivated his advocacy for transformative practices within the sector.Committed to driving broader change, Basoshi transitioned to public service, being elected as the National Member of Parliament for Fizi territory. Within the Congolese National Assembly, he serves on the Commission for Environment, Natural Resources, and Sustainable Development. His legislative tenure has been marked by vigorous advocacy for transparent, accountable, and environmentally responsible mining policies.Drawing from extensive industry and legislative insights, Hon. Basoshi co-founded Société Madini ya Afrika kwa Maendeleo (MAM Sarl). Under his leadership, MAM Sarl embodies a transformative approach to mineral exploration and extraction, firmly grounded in principles of transparency, responsibility, and socio-economic development. His leadership emphasizes that Congo’s abundant mineral resources should serve as a catalyst for sustainable community development and environmental protection.Through his multifaceted career, Hon. Basoshi continues to demonstrate that sustainable mining can meaningfully contribute to community upliftment and national development. His combined technical, legislative, and entrepreneurial expertise uniquely positions him to effect significant, positive change in the Congolese mining sector.

Mr. Sqov Cirhuza

Exploration Manager/DRC Congo

Sqov Cirhuza is a senior geologist with 19 years of experience in mineral exploration in Africa. A specialist in gold, diamond, and pegmatitic systems, he has contributed to several major discoveries in the DRC, Rwanda, and Angola. Formerly a Senior Exploration Project Geologist and then Senior Project Mining Geologist at Twangiza Mining, he played a key role in bringing the site into production, after having led the team at Banro that discovered the Twangiza-Namoya gold belt. At ELABIF DRC, he oversees target generation, exploration program planning, geological modeling, and field team management, applying the highest standards of QA/QC, safety, and operational excellence.

Yves Mutombo

Exploration Manager/Kongo Centrale

Yves Mutombo is an experienced Congolese geologist specializing in gold and diamond exploration in the Democratic Republic of Congo. With over 15 years of field experience, he possesses solid expertise in target generation, exploration team supervision, operational management, and the deployment of geological programs in complex environments. Before joining ELABIF SARL, he worked on several mining projects in the DRC, where he contributed to the identification and development of areas with high mineral potential. His rigorous approach, combined with excellent command of modern exploration methods, makes him a key player in the success of ELABIF's operations. As Exploration Manager for the Kongo Central Project, Yves Mutombo oversees all geological activities, from strategic planning to field execution. He plays a vital role in assessing regional mineral potential and implementing ELABIF SARL's high standards of safety, compliance, and operational performance.
